Season two of Disney+’s Goosebumps has signed up six new recurring cast members. The young adult anthology series has just added Arjun Athalye, Stony Blyden, Sakina Jaffrey, Eloise Payet, Christopher Paul Richards, and Kyra Tantao. The streamer’s also released details on who they will be playing.
Arjun Athalye (Are You Afraid of the Dark?) is playing Sameer, Eloise Payet (The End of the Party) is attached to play Hannah, Christopher Paul Richards (The Kids Are Alright) is Matty, and Kyra Tantao (Zombies 3) plays Nicole. The four are described as “teenagers who mysteriously vanished in 1994.” They will become a central secret to the present-day characters, per Disney+.
Stony Blyden (American Born Chinese) is recurring as Trey, Frankie’s boyfriend. And Sakina Jaffrey (Billions) will play a mysterious woman named Ramona.
The six join previously announced season two regulars David Schwimmer as Anthony, Ana Ortiz as Jen, Sam McCarthy as Devin, and Jayden Bartels as Cece. Elijah Cooper stars as CJ, Galilea La Salvia is Frankie, and Francesca Noel is Alex.
“The new story begins with Devin and Cece, fraternal twins adjusting to life with their recently divorced dad, Anthony. When the duo discovers a threat stirring, they quickly realize that dark secrets are among them, triggering a chain of events that unravel a profound mystery,” reads Disney+’s synopsis. “As they delve into the unknown, Devin, Cece, and their friends — Alex, CJ, and Frankie — find themselves entangled in the chilling tale of four teenagers who mysteriously vanished in 1994.”
The series is based on R.L. Stine’s bestselling Scholastic series. Nicholas Stoller and Rob Letterman developed the series and serve as executive producers. Hilary Winston is the showrunner and executive produces along with Neal H. Moritz, Scholastic Entertainment’s Iole Lucchese, Pavun Shetty, Conor Welch, Scholastic Entertainment’s Caitlin Friedman, and Erin O’Malley.
