Jurassic World #4 Has an Official Title: Plot, Cast, and First Photos

Jurassic World Rebirth

Universal Pictures is returning to the world of dinosaurs (or, as the studio’s accountants refer to them, prehistoric cash cows) with the fourth installment in the Jurassic World franchise. The new addition to the blockbuster action-adventure series is now officially titled Jurassic World Rebirth.

The title announcement was accompanied by two photos from the film featuring two-time Oscar nominee Scarlett Johansson (Marriage Story, Jojo Rabbit), Emmy nominee Jonathan Bailey (Fellow Travelers), and two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali (Green Book, Moonlight). The studio also confirmed that the first film set after the end of the Jurassic World trilogy is targeting a July 2025 theatrical release.

Universal offers this description of Rebirth: “Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.

Academy Award nominee Johansson plays skilled covert operations expert Zora Bennett, contracted to lead a skilled team on a top-secret mission to secure genetic material from the world’s three most massive dinosaurs. When Zora’s operation intersects with a civilian family whose boating expedition was capsized by marauding aquatic dinos, they all find themselves stranded on an island where they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that’s been hidden from the world for decades.”

Two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali plays Duncan Kincaid, Zora’s most trusted team leader. Emmy nominee Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton) plays paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis, and Emmy nominee Rupert Friend (Homeland) is Big Pharma representative Martin Krebs. The Lincoln Lawyer‘s Manuel Garcia-Rulfo plays Reuben Delgado, the father of the shipwrecked civilian family. The cast also includes Luna Blaise (Manifest), David Iacono (The Summer I Turned Pretty), Audrina Miranda (Lopez vs. Lopez), Philippine Velge (Station Eleven), Bechir Sylvain (BMF), and Ed Skrein (Deadpool).

Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) directs from a script by Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley serve as producers, with Steven Spielberg, Denis L. Stewart, and Jim Spencer executive producing.

Jurassic World, the sequel to the Jurassic Park franchise, opened in theaters in 2015 and starred Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Pratt and Howard reprised their roles for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in 2018 and Jurassic World Dominion in 2022.
