Season two of CBS’s Sheriff Country will be a real family affair, at least for the new season’s first episode. Ben McKenzie will join his wife, series star Morena Baccarin, for the season premiere. McKenzie is playing a neighboring sheriff who Baccarin’s Sheriff Mickey Fox calls on for help.
McKenzie and Baccarin met while working on Fox’s Gotham and married in 2017.
Sheriff Country season two kicks off on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 8pm ET/PT. In addition to Baccarin, season two stars Matt Lauria as Nathan Boone, W. Earl Brown as Wes Fox, Christopher Gorham as Travis Fraley, Michele Weaver as Cassidy Cunningham, Amanda Arcuri as Skye Fraley, and Ian Quinlan as Hank Iglesias.
CBS released this description of season two’s first episode:
“Cyclone” – As Sheriff Mickey Fox struggles to process a shocking revelation about her family, she races to save a troubled young woman whose descent into a dangerous criminal operation uncovers a growing threat to all of Edgewater.
Executive producers include Max Thieriot, Joan Rater, Tony Phelan, Matt Lopez, and Jerry Bruckheimer Television’s Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed.
Per CBS: “Sheriff Country stars Morena Baccarin as straight-shooting sheriff Mickey Fox, the stepsister of Cal Fire division chief Sharon Leone (Diane Farr of Fire Country). Mickey investigates crime while patrolling the streets of small-town Edgewater, contending with her ex-con father, Wes, an off-the-grid marijuana grower, while dealing with personal battles and an ever-growing criminal threat to the community she has sworn to protect.”
