‘Minions & Monsters’ Cast: Oscar Winners Join the Chaos

Minions & Monsters

The Minions franchise signs up Oscar winners Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, and Jeff Bridges for Minions & Monsters. The new story with new characters brings back the original voice of the weird little yellow guys, Pierre Coffin, as director and the voice of the new minions.

Two-time Oscar nominee Jesse Eisenberg, Zoey Deutch, South Park co-creator Trey Parker, Bobby Moynihan, and Phil LaMarr also lend their voices to the new Minions film.

“Illumination’s Minions & Monsters is the rambunctious, ridiculous, and totally true story of how the Minions, led by Dick, conquered Hollywood, became movie stars, lost everything, unleashed monsters onto the world, and then banded together to try and save the planet from the mayhem they had just created,” reads Universal Pictures’ synopsis.

Pierre Coffin, director of the first three Despicable Me films and the first Minions film, returns to helm the new installment of the franchise. Coffin and Brian Lynch wrote the screenplay, with Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and Bill Ryan serving as producers. Brian Lynch is the executive producer.

“The Minions have always had a wonderfully subversive spirit and Minions & Monsters delivers a full dose of irreverence and comedic mayhem,” stated Chris Meledandri. “Pierre and his Illumination team have brought a level of artistry to the film that has thrilled me all throughout production. The voice cast is filled with exceptional talent. The film’s story is unexpected and delightful, and perhaps the most lovely surprise is how Minions & Monsters serves to honor cinema, its origins, and the comedians who are the original inspiration for these adorable little guys.”

Minions & Monsters will be released in theaters on July 1, 2026.
