Fans kept the faith and refused to believe Coach Ted Lasso called it quits at the end of season three. Today, Apple TV+ officially confirmed we haven’t seen the last of the optimistic football (or soccer, whichever you prefer) coach. A fourth season of Ted Lasso is in the works, with Jason Sudeikis returning as the titular character and executive producer.
Details are few, but Sudeikis did say they’re writing it right now. Speaking with Travis and Jason Kelce on their New Heights podcast, Sudeikis revealed Ted will be coaching a women’s team. Apple TV+ did not confirm who from the talented ensemble will return. However, it was previously reported that Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift have signed on for another season.
“As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to ‘look before we leap,’” stated Sudeikis in the renewal press release. “In season four, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be.”
Season four writers include Brett Goldstein, Sarah Walker, Phoebe Walsh, and Julia Lindon. Sudeikis, Goldstein, Leanne Bowen, Jack Burditt, Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee, Bill Lawrence, Jeff Ingold, Liza Katzer, and Bill Wrubel executive produce. Dylan Marron is the season four story editor, and Walker and Walsh are producers.

The Emmy award-winning, critically acclaimed comedy premiered in August 2020. The 12-episode second season debuted in July 2021, and season three in March 2023.
