Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer season three release date announcement describes the upcoming season’s main case as Mickey Haller’s most difficult to date. The new 10-episode season premieres on October 17, 2024.
“Mickey Haller, an iconoclastic idealist, runs his law practice out of the back seat of his Lincoln, as he takes on cases big and small across the expansive city of Los Angeles,” reads Netflix’s synopsis.
Manuel Garcia-Rulfo returns to lead the cast as Mickey Haller, Becki Newton is back as Lorna Crane, Jazz Raycole stars as Izzy Letts, Angus Sampson reprises his role as Cisco Wojciechowski, Yaya DaCosta returns as Andrea Freemann. Returning recurring guest stars include Neve Campbell as Maggie, Elliott Gould as Legal Siegel, Fiona Rene as Glory Days, Krista Warner as Hayley, and Devon Graye as Julian La Cosse. Michael Irby, Maisie Klompus, Wolé Parks, and Jon Tenney also guest star.
“This season is very exciting,” said series star Garcia-Rulfo to Netflix’s Tudum. “We see Mickey struggling with so many things at the same time — with romance, with the wives, with the cases. You never expect what’s going to happen, who’s going to be bad and who’s going to be guilty.”
Four new cast members join the legal drama for season three:
- Merrin Dungey (The Resident) stars as Judge Regina Turner, a former public defender who’s younger and more progressive than most judges in the district — but whether that’s a benefit to Mickey or not remains to be seen.
- Allyn Moriyon makes his television debut as Eddie Rojas, a fitness buff (and former babysitter to Mickey’s daughter, Hayley) who’s in need of a very good lawyer. Luckily, Mickey is able to help, and then offers him the opportunity of a lifetime.
- John Pirruccello (Barry) plays William Forsythe, a seemingly nonthreatening prosecutor who Mickey’s excited to go up against. Once the trial starts, however, it’s clear that nothing’s as it seems.
- Philip Anthony-Rodriguez (Grimm) takes on the role of Adam Suarez, the chief deputy district attorney, to whom prosecutor Andrea Freeman (Yaya DaCosta) reports and is a force to reckon with.
The Lincoln Lawyer is based on Michael Connelly’s bestselling The Lincoln Lawyer book series. The third season is adapted from The Gods of Guilt, the fifth book of the series. David E. Kelley created the series and Ted Humphrey developed it for television. Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez serve as executive producers and co-showrunners. Additional executive producers include Kelley, Ross Fineman, Barry Jossen, and Tana Jamieson.
Author Connelly writes and executive produces.
Discussing the first season three photos, co-showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez talked about inserting a flashback into the season. “We decided that a fun (and poignant) way to come into the season would be via a flashback sequence that gave us some insight into how Mickey Haller became Mickey Haller — not just the brilliant criminal defense lawyer, but the husband, the father, and the man that he would come to be,” said Humphrey and Rodriguez.
