Julia Garner in Apartment 7A

A talented dancer with big dreams finds herself stuck in a nightmare in Apartment 7A, a prequel to the classic horror story Rosemary’s Baby. The official trailer shows Terry (Ozark‘s Julia Garner) going from hopeful to horrified as she discovers none of her neighbors actually have her best interests in mind when they offer her help.

Dianne Wiest (Mayor of Kingstown), Kevin McNally (the Pirates of the Caribbean films), and Jim Sturgess (Across the Universe) also star. The supporting cast includes Marli Siu (Everything I Know About Love), Andrew Buchan (All the Money in the World), Rosy McEwen (Blue Jean), and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith (Wonka).

“An ambitious young dancer Terry Gionoffrio (Garner) dreams of fame and fortune in New York City, but, after suffering a devastating injury, an older, wealthy couple (Wiest and McNally) welcomes her into their home in the luxury apartment building the Bramford,” reads Paramount+’s synopsis. “When fellow resident and influential Broadway producer (Sturgess) offers her another chance at fame, it seems that all her dreams are finally coming true. However, after an evening she can’t fully remember, disturbing circumstances soon have her second-guessing the sacrifices she’s willing to make for her career as she realizes that something evil is living not only in Apartment 7A, but in the Bramford itself.”

Natalie Erika James (Relic) directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Christian White and Skylar James. John Krasinski, Allyson Seeger, Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller serve as producers. Executive producers include Vicki Dee Rock and Alexa Ginsburg. The Rosemary’s Baby prequel is a Platinum Dunes/Sunday Night Production in association with Paramount Pictures.

Apartment 7A will premiere at the 2024 Fantastic Fest before streaming on Paramount+ beginning September 27, 2024.
