Dakota Fanning (The Alienist) takes her bird on a trip straight into hell on earth in the official trailer for New Line Cinema’s The Watchers. The nearly three-minute trailer shows Fanning trapped in a remote building with strangers, with creatures watching their every move.

The cast of the horror thriller, based on A.M. Shine’s novel, includes Georgina Campbell (Barbarian), Oliver Finnegan (Creeped Out), and Olwen Fouere (The Northman). Ishana Night Shyamalan, daughter of M. Night Shyamalan, makes her feature film directorial debut with The Watchers. Ishana Night Shyamalan also adapted Shine’s novel for the screen.

“The film follows Mina, a 28-year-old artist, who gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers who are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night,” reads New Line Cinema’s synopsis. “You can’t see them, but they see everything.”

The behind-the-scenes team includes director of photography Eli Arenson (Lamb), production designer Ferdia Murphy (Finding You), editor Job ter Burg (Benedetta), and costume designer Frank Gallacher (Aftersun). Abel Korzeniowski (The Nun) is in charge of the music.

New Line Cinema will release The Watchers internationally on June 12, 2024 and in North America on June 14, 2024.
