Saturday weather: Heat wave fading, but region staying warm

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — The heat wave is starting to dissipate but fairly warm temperatures will stick around SoCal this week.

The excessive heat warning remains in place through Sunday night, but then temperatures in most areas will drop to the 80s and 90s.

During heat warnings, residents are advised to stay in air-conditioned indoor locations, drink plenty of fluids and check on relatives and neighbors. Children and pets should not be left unattended in vehicles.

For Father’s Day, Los Angeles and Orange counties will see temperatures reach about 81 degrees, just slightly above average for this time of year. Conditions will remain similar throughout most of the week.

The valleys will see temperatures reach 96 and the Inland Empire could see 103.
