Filming has officially finished up on Wednesday season three starring Jenna Ortega in the titular role. Netflix announced production has wrapped; however, the streamer did not announce a target premiere date for the new season.
In addition to Jenna Ortega, the upcoming season stars Eva Green, Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Joy Sunday, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Isaac Ordonez, Billie Piper, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Victor Dorobantu, and Evie Templeton. Oscar Morgan, Kennedy Moyer, Luis Guzmán, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Joanna Lumley, Winona Ryder, Chris Sarandon, Lena Headey, Andrew McCarthy, James Lance, and Fred Armisen also star.
“The series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy,” reads Netflix’s description of the critically acclaimed coming of age horror comedy. Season three hasn’t released an official synopsis.
A look back at season two: “Wednesday Addams (Ortega) returns to prowl the Gothic halls of Nevermore Academy, where fresh foes and woes await. This season, Wednesday must navigate family, friends, and old adversaries, propelling her into another year of delightfully dark and kooky mayhem. Armed with her signature razor-sharp wit and deadpan charm, Wednesday is also plunged into a new bone-chilling supernatural mystery.”
Alfred Gough and Miles Millar created the series, based on characters created by Charles Addams. Gough and Millar serve as writers, showrunners, and executive producers. Additional executive producers include Jenna Ortega, Steve Stark, Andrew Mittman, Karen Richards, Tommy Harper, Kayla Alpert, and Kevin Miserocchi. Tim Burton directs and executive produces.
