Lily James (The Iron Claw, Pam & Tommy) stars as Whitney Wolfe, a woman who revolutionized the online dating industry, in 20th Century Studios’ Swiped. The trailer kicks off by focusing on Wolfe’s time at Tinder and the early days of the app’s success. But it wasn’t all champagne and roses, and the trailer moves on to show Wolfe responding to the changes by creating an empire.
In addition to Lily James, Swiped stars Jackson White, Myha’la, Ben Schnetzer, Pierson Fodé, Clea DuVall, Pedro Correa, Ian Colleti, Coral Peña, and Dan Stevens.
“Inspired by the provocative real-life story of the visionary founder of online dating platform Bumble, Swiped introduces recent college grad Whitney Wolfe, played by Lily James, as she uses extraordinary grit and ingenuity to break into the male-dominated tech industry and launch an innovative, globally lauded dating app (two, actually), paving the way to becoming the youngest female self-made billionaire,” reads 20th Century Studios’ synopsis.
The Toronto International Film Festival will host the film’s premiere on September 9, 2025. A streaming premiere on Hulu follows on September 19.
Rachel Lee Goldenberg (Minx, Tiny Beautiful Things) directs and co-wrote the screenplay with Bill Parker and Kim Caramele. Lily James, Jennifer Gibgot, and Andrew Panay serve as producers.
