Max’s critically acclaimed medical drama The Pitt starring Noah Wyle has started production on season two. Season one premiered on January 9, 2025 and currently sits at 95% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. Season two is targeting a January 2026 debut.

Noah Wyle serves as an executive producer and stars as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch. Season one’s cast also included Tracey Ifeachor as Dr. Collins, Patrick Ball as Dr. Langdon, Katherine LaNasa as Dana Evans, Supriya Ganesh as Dr. Mohan, Fiona Dourif as Dr. McKay, Taylor Dearden as Dr. King, Isa Briones as Dr. Santos, Gerran Howell as Whitaker, and Shabana Azeez as Javadi.

R. Scott Gemmill created the series that Max describes as “a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today’s America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh.”

In addition to Gemmill and Wyle, executive producers include John Wells, Michael Hissrich, Erin Jontow, and Simran Baidwan. The series is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

“From its powerful stories to its realistic set and unique real-time format, The Pitt is truly a masterclass in storytelling—and it’s all due to the talented team of executive producers and crew and the incredible ensemble cast who truly embody the pace and pressure of a hospital emergency department,” said Channing Dungey, Chairman and CEO, Warner Bros. Television Group and WBD U.S. Networks. “John, Noah, Scott, and the team have so many more stories to tell, and we are thankful to our partners at Max for giving them the opportunity to do so.”

Production is taking place on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank. The exteriors will be shot on location in Pittsburgh, PA.
