
HBO released the official action-packed trailer for season two of The Last of Us, and based on the YouTube comments, fans of the video game are blown away by the new video. It’s got monsters (both in human and creature forms), action, and a few heart-wrenching moments. The official trailer also features the much-anticipated arrival of Kaitlyn Dever (Apple Cider Vinegar) as Abby.
Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey return to star as Joel and Ellie. Gabriel Luna returns as Tommy, and Rutina Wesley reprises her role as Maria. Newcomers include Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, Danny Ramirez as Manny, and Jeffrey Wright as Isaac. Catherine O’Hara guest stars.
“Five years after the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind,” reads HBO’s official synopsis.
The nine-episode first season premiered on January 15, 2023. Season two consists of just seven episodes and will debut on April 13, 2025. New episodes will air on Sundays at 9pm ET/PT.
Based on Naughty Dog’s popular PlayStation game, The Last of Us season two is written by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. Mazin, Druckmann, Carolyn Strauss, Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O’Connor, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Evan Wells.
