Netflix has officially begun production on the second season of Nobody Wants This, as announced with the release of a behind-the-scenes photo. Kristen Bell and Adam Brody will reprise their leading roles in the critically acclaimed comedy. The streaming platform has also unveiled four guest stars who will play significant roles in the upcoming season.
Alongside Bell and Brody, Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, and Jackie Tohn are returning for season two. Season one premiered on September 26, 2024, and season two is expected to be released on Netflix later this year.
Kristen Bell as Joanne
“An agnostic podcast host and an unconventional rabbi on the rebound walk into a party. When they walk out — together — the unlikely pair, Joanne (Bell) and Noah (Brody), can tell there is something between them,” reads Netflix’s season one synopsis. “But also potentially between them, with their differing outlooks on life, all of the modern obstacles to love, and their sometimes well-meaning, sometimes sabotaging families — including her sister Morgan (Lupe) and his brother Sasha (Simons).”
Netflix released the following details on season two’s guest stars:
- Leighton Meester plays “Abby” – Joanne’s middle school nemesis who is now an Instagram mommy influencer.
- Miles Fowler plays” Lenny” – Noah’s Matzah Ballers teammate who gets set up with Morgan (Justine Lupe).
- Alex Karpovsky plays “Big Noah” – An overly confident rabbi at Noah’s temple.
- Arian Moayed plays “Dr. Andy” – A charming, highly regarded (particularly by himself) psychotherapist who might just be the perfect match for Morgan.
Created by Erin Foster, the Critics Choice Awards-winning comedy has Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan as co-showrunners. Konner, Kaplan, Kristen Bell, Erin Foster, Steven Levitan, Sara Foster, Danielle Stokdyk, Jeff Morton, Nora Silver, and Oly Obst executive produce.
