‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’ Season 2 Sets May Premiere and Drops New Footage

The Walking Dead: Dead City

AMC’s The Walking Dead: Dead City season two finally has a premiere date. The first six-episode season debuted in June 2023, and the eight-episode season two is now set to arrive on May 4, 2025 at 9pm ET/PT.

The premiere date announcement was accompanied by the release of the first two minutes of season two.

The Walking Dead: Dead City follows the popular Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) characters traveling into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror,” reads AMC’s synopsis. “In season two, in the growing war for control of Manhattan, Maggie and Negan find themselves trapped on opposite sides. As their paths intertwine, they come to see that the way out for both is more complicated and harrowing than they ever imagined.”

The second season also features Gaius Charles, Željko Ivanek, Mahina Anne Marie Napoleon, Lisa Emery, Logan Kim, Dascha Polanco, and Kim Coates.

The Walking Dead‘s Eli Jorné guides the series as showrunner and executive producer. Additional executive producers include Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Lauren Cohan, chief content officer of The Walking Dead Universe Scott M. Gimple, Brian Bockrath, Michael Satrazemis, and Colin Walsh.
