The Agency has entered Showtime’s record books as the most streamed new series in the network’s history, earning it an early season two renewal order. The espionage thriller racked up 5.1 million viewers after its November 29, 2024 premiere, with new episodes of the 10-episode season arriving on Fridays.

Season one stars Michael Fassbender, Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Richard Gere. The cast also includes Katherine Waterston, John Magaro, Alex Reznik, Andrew Brooke, Harriet Sansom Harris, India Fowler, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, and Reza Brojerdi.

“The success of The Agency is proof that our new SHOWTIME® slate is poised to propel Paramount+ to its next phase of growth,” said Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO and President/CEO, SHOWTIME® & MTV Entertainment Studios. “This achievement is a testament to the creative power of the team led by George Clooney, Jez Butterworth, Joe Wright, and David Glasser and our incredible cast including Michael Fassbender, Richard Gere, Jodie Turner-Smith, and Jeffrey Wright.”

Dominic West and Hugh Bonneville guest star in season one. Adam Nagaitis, Ambreen Razia, Bilal Hasna, David Harewood, Kurt Egyiawan, Ray BLK, Sabrina Wu, and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor appear in recurring roles.

“A fresh take on the critically acclaimed hit French drama Le Bureau des Legendes, the espionage thriller follows Martian (Fassbender), a covert CIA agent, ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station. When the love he left behind reappears, romance reignites. His career, his real identity and his mission are pitted against his heart; hurling them both into a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage,” reads Showtime’s synopsis.

Fassbender, Keith Cox, Nina L. Diaz, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, and Bob Yari executive produce. Additional executive producers include George Clooney, Grant Heslov, Alex Berger, Ashley Stern, and Pascal Breton. Jez and John-Henry Butterworth serve as writers and executive producers, with Joe Wright executive producing and directing the first two episodes.
