Netflix didn’t make Emily in Paris fans wait long, announcing the popular – and fashionable – drama has been renewed for a fifth season. The renewal came hot on the heels of the debut of season four part two, which arrived on September 12, 2024.
Lily Collins stars as the titular Emily, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu plays Sylvie Grateau, Ashley Park is Mindy Chen, and Lucas Bravo is Gabriel. Camille Razat is Camille, Samuel Arnold plays Julien, Bruno Gouery is Luc, William Abadie is Antoine Lambert, and Lucien Laviscount plays Alfie.
In the aftermath of the events of season four, series creator, writer, and executive producer Darren Star says that fans can expect Emily to show up in Rome in season five. “It doesn’t mean she’s not going to be in Paris, but she’s going to have a presence in Rome,” said Star in an interview with Netflix’s Tudum. Star also confirmed Emily and Marcello’s relationship will be explored in the upcoming season.
“Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily because we ultimately want Emily to be able to have a better work/life balance,” said Collins. “We want to have Emily be able to smile without condition. We want to see her beyond her vacay mode. And he comes at that perfect time.”
Season four premiered on August 12, 2024, with part two following on September 12th. More than 19.9 million viewers watched part one over its first four days on the streamer.
Collins, Ryan McCormick, Raphaël Benoliel, and Jake Fuller serve as producers. Executive producers include Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, Andrew Fleming, Alison Brown, and Robin Schiff. The series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, Darren Star Productions, and Jax Media.
