When news hit last year of the upcoming BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star docuseries, the group’s fans – known as ARMY – took to social media to express their excitement. The official announcement of the partnership between Disney+ and HYBE Corporation came in July 2022. The agreement includes global distribution of five major content titles from HYBE, one of which was BTS: Permission to Dance on Stage – LA which hit the streaming platform in September 2022.

Included in the deal are previously released documentaries of members J-Hope and Suga, focusing on their solo activities. J-Hope in the Box captures the creative process of the making of his hit album Jack in the Box and his journey to headlining Lollapalooza in 2022. The documentary was released on February 17, 2023.

Suga: Road to D-DAY chronicles his musical journey following his road trip around the world. The film takes the viewers through the ins and outs of his creative process working on his solo album D-DAY. Suga: Road to D-DAY premiered on April 21, 2023.

The septuple group are no strangers to documentaries. They released their first, Burn the Stage, on March 28, 2018 on what was formally known as YouTube Red. The eight-episode docuseries followed the group on their epic Wings World Tour that took place throughout 2017.

Next came Burn the Stage: The Movie, their first documentary which arrived in theaters on November 15, 2018. The movie played in theaters for a limited time, but due to popular demand, it was re-released in December.

BTS’s musical journey launched on June 13, 2013, in Seoul, South Korea. In the past decade, the global group has smashed records around the world and have earned 5 Grammy nominations, making them the first and only Korean act to do so.
