Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians will premiere on December 20, 2023 with the release of the first two episodes. The streaming service announced the launch date in a new 30-second teaser trailer released on Percy Jackson’s birthday.
Walker Scobell takes on the lead role of Percy Jackson in this adaptation of Rick Riordan’s bestselling book series. Leah Sava Jeffries stars as Annabeth Chase and Aryan Simhadri plays Grover Underwood.
Season one guest stars include Lin-Manuel Miranda as Hermes, Megan Mullally as Alecto aka Mrs. Dodds, Toby Stephens as Poseidon, Jason Mantzoukas as Dionysus aka Mr. D, and Virginia Kull as Sally Jackson. Jay Duplass plays Hades, Glynn Turman is Chiron” aka Mr. Brunner, the late Lance Reddick is Zeus, Adam Copeland is Ares, and Charlie Bushnell is Luke Castellan.
Dior Goodjohn guest stars as Clarisse La Rue, Jessica Parker Kennedy is Medusa, Olivea Morton is Nancy Bobofit, Suzanne Cryer is Echidna, Timm Sharp is Gabe Ugliano, and Timothy Omundson plays Hephaestus.
Author Rick Riordan co-wrote the first two episodes with showrunner Jon Steinberg, with James Bobin directing. Steinberg, Riordan, Bobin, co-showrunner Dan Shotz, Rebecca Riordan, Jim Rowe, Monica Owusu-Breen, Anders Engström, Jet Wilkinson, Bert Salke, and The Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell and D.J.
