SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Two innocent victims were killed in a hit-and-run crash Friday morning after a driver sped away from an attempted traffic stop in South Los Angeles, police said.

The four-vehicle crash happened shortly after 4 a.m. at the intersection of Manchester Avenue and Broadway, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Officers had attempted to pull over the suspects’ green Cadillac for speeding but the driver refused to stop, an LAPD spokesperson said.

The collision happened shortly afterward, leaving a man and woman dead at the scene. They were identified only as being in their 30s.

Others involved in the collision were not seriously injured.

The two suspects fled on foot but were later taken into custody, police said. Their identities were not immediately released.
