ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) — The Angels on Thursday honored a local sports star who is breaking glass ceilings.
Last week, Anaheim High School’s Jillian Albayati became the first girl to pitch in a California Interscholastic Federation — Southern Section baseball title game.
On Thursday night, the Angels invited Albayati to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before their game against the Toronto Blue Jays at the Big A in Anaheim.
Predictably, Jillian threw a strike right down the middle.
With her 11-0 record and 1.68 era, she could match some of the Halos pitchers.
